The finishing touches!

We have finally added the opening to the film and have used a letterbox edit it to make it look especially creepy and mysterious and it also follows a horror film tradition.
We have also added the finishing touches to the music and just slipped in a background track to give the film more body as the characters speak.
Overall, we are very happy with the way our film has developed and are very confident in it due to our hardwork.

Production logo

Here is our final production logo which we made on photoshop using a picture of a nebula and downloading text from DaFont.com. We used an effect on the font called drop shadow to give it a more 3D effect and to allow a contrast between the text and background image. As you can see only 'Colossal' is in grey as it just allows the text to stand out from each other and just gives the logo a wider variety of colour and tone. We decided to use a nebula because space is massive and that's what we want our films to be: huge and epic with the biggest stars and have the greatest quality narratives which is why the word 'Colossal' seems as if it's actually coming out of the middle of the nebula, reflecting our productions.

Movie soundtrack

I have began to make the soundtrack for our film by using Garage Band. I have created an eerie sound using Synth Pads and a Guitar.

First stage of editing the film

Here is a screen grab of the first stages of editing on iMovie. First of all I looked at all the footage and split the scenes into order. Then I cut the scenes into different shoots of the scenes so we can decide which ones we want and what shots we have to do again and what we have left to shoot.

UPDATE: 23/2/2012

We have decided not to use an old swing for a prop as we couldn't get one in time but this has not affected the production at all. We replaced this with flashbacks of a young girl to add an extra amount of eeriness but following the convention of young people in films.
Extra camera angles have been used which were decided spontaneously to give certain effects and the opening has been changed from a ouija board sequence to pans of newspaper clippings, old photographs and possibly a news coverage clip. This has been changed so the audience feel an instant mysteriousness.

Photoshop Text Tutorial

These are some tutorials we would like to follow to create a 3D effect on our text.

Production company ideas

Our logo is of text "Colossal Creations" in front of a nebula sky. The C is in a planet. We have chosen this because "Colossal" and space represent big, ongoing things displaying that our films will be massive, epic and legendary. Our inspiration is Paramount as they use a mountain to display the great scale of their movies.
